Just About Done

Good top of the week to you! A fresh new week and I am ready to go!! Hope you are, too!

I had a very productive weekend. We got a lot of things done around the house and I worked on getting my desk organized. Still have a little bit to finish but I am just about done! I can not tell you how thrilled I am about this silly desk. The other desk I had was just a regular desk and didn't give me much room and my cutters and everything were a distance away and nothing was ever plugged in ready to work. And there really was no way to leave anything out so I got out and put away each time I wanted to work. With this one...I use the keyboard pull out to store my LO on and I can just pull it out to add an element. So I am just a very happy camper. Now to start scrapping on it!!!

We made a trip to a local flea market yesterday to see if I could find some cute containers for on the desk. I would like some pretty vases and containers to hold pencils and so forth...unfortunately none spoke me! So maybe next Saturday we will take the tour. There are so many flea markets in the area I am sure I will find something just right!

Did you notice our dog Mandy and cat Liu in the painting on the wall? Our daughter had an oil painting done of them after they both had died. It was a wonderful present. We loved them both so much! All you cat and dog lovers understand!!!

I am hoping to put a link to scrapping videos on the blog every few days, so if there is something that you would particularly would like to see, let me know and I will see if I can find a video about it. Also, if there is something you know about and would like to share...let's do it!!!

Will be writing more later!

Sunday Morning

There is just something special about Sunday morning! I guess it is the fond memories I have of going to church with my darling Dad. After church we would go to his sister's house, my Aunt Mid, and have so much fun. She always had fresh backed chocolate chip cookies and she was so sweet...someone really special in my life. Or we would stop at the bakery and get some of the wonderful apricot filled cream flaky...and such a wonderful smell in there, or go to Dad's brother's gas station, Uncle Abe, what a guy, and get a Grapette pop! Humm...all connected with food. Not a surprise to me. Food was always a big deal at my family!! Whenever you were happy you were to eat...whenever something was wrong you were to eat...a philosophy for which I am still paying for today! But as a child life was beautiful!! To this day Sunday has a very special feeling for me. Warm fuzzies.

I want to tell you what I want to do here but I have to tell you it isn't ready to go yet. Have you ever heard of Flat Stanley from when you were in school? Well, I hadn't until about a month ago.

Evidently poor Stanley had a bulletin board fall on him in school. Flattened him flatter than a pancake! But, as some people do when life hands them a bad deal, he turned it into good. It seems being flat made it possible for him to be mailed around the see the sights and learn all about the world and the people who inhabit it!!

So that is what I am going to do. I am making a "Flat Barb"!!! She has been not 'born' yet. I need to finish her and get her presentable!!! Then I am hoping you will ask for her to be mailed to you. You will show her around and fill in her travel journal with pics and journaling that will travel with her.

I had seen this done on Oh Scrap and it is so nice. I thought that is exactly what I want to do. Not only will it just be fun but I am hoping it will bring all who come to this site to become a close knit group. To know and care about each connect our thoughts with each other. So post away here...let's see what is on each other's minds and what's up in each of our lives.

So in the next week or two I will finish up Flat Barb and hope someone will offer to host her! Are you with me on this?? I hope you are!

Take a look at Oh Scrap's Flat Joscie.

Busy Day

Saturday has finally arrived. Don't we all sort of live for the weekend to get here...that is if you have the weekend off!

Have a very busy day planned for today. Lots to do to get my new scrap desk switched form the old one to the new one. I have heard from others that it will take a while till I get everything where I want it. I am so running out of room and I have only been scrapping for a year and a half, so I can not even imagine where all you seasoned scrappers store everything. I can see now that there is absolutely no way that you can have everything at arms reach!! And the more I put away the more I see I to have the entire set of things like Tim Holtz products and Stickles!!! Dream on....

I am going to try to get a pic of at least part of my desk today and try to get it posted so you can see it. I am so thrilled to have this dedicated space so I won't have to pick up and put away every time I scrap!

Well, I need to get outside and sweep up all the grass from mowing. And would you believe our dear neighbor came over while we were inside and edged the entire lawn?? How sweet is that? So there is LOTS of grass to gather.

Check back tonight or perhaps tomorrow and I will let in on my new project I want you to be part of. I would do it now only it will take a little time to explain it correctly.

Feel compelled to offer you a taste of beautiful Florida!

Enjoy your day!!!

Just One of Those Days

It was just one of those days! You know work and work and you just don't seem to get anything done! Well that was it for sure today! But still a good day at that, so can't complain.

But you might as well know now that I am a total Starbucks freak! I even have my husband hooked now, too! And every Friday is officailly Starbuks night after work. It is our payoff for getting through the week! However, it seems that we are getting more days of the week that are becoming Starbucks day which I will explain more at a later date!! But we soon will be swooning over a decaf Cafe Americano for me and a Soy Chai Tea Latte for him. Life is good!!!

Thanks again to my wonderful daughter, I finally got Flickr up and running. I tried for a couple hours and could not get that thing to like me. But she finished it up and it is finally there. Anyone who wants can post there, however, I really would love to see some good scrapping layouts! So go on and upload. You will find the link on the right under Community. Would love for you to post your pic, too, so I can get to put a face with a name. I am going to get mine up very soon. Took some last night at my Grandson's birthday bash so I just need to find one that I like!!

It is time to get ready to go home. I still am at work waiting for my husband to bop down from his work...just up the street...and then on to Starbucks. Ummm......see ya

Getting Anxious

Well, here I am at work. Why am I posting? I guess I will claim it lunch!!!???

This is going together but very slowly, and I won't have time to do anything tonight, either. We are going to our daughter's to celebrate our grandson's fifth birthday!

I would rather do it on the weekend so we could spend more time...she lives a distance away...but I like to celebrate it on his birthday!! So we are going tonight and practically turning right back to start home. But we enjoy it just the same!!

Thanks goes to our wonderful daughter, who is a web designer, for getting me my beautiful header! Bless her. She does so much for us! Love her to pieces!!! Couldn't ask for a sweeter, nicer person. We are so proud of her!

That is about all I have time for right now. Everyone have a wonderful day!!

Under Construcion

Hi everyone! I really can't believe I have finally started a blog. But here I am.

Wanting to have a place where friends can gather just to chat and share life snippets.

I hope to get some good links to scrapping sites once I get the feel of what I am doing. I hope to be able to make this a place where we all have a great time together.

If you have anything you would like to see on my blog, let me know and I will see what I can do. Let's have some fun!!!
